Position Overview:

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to take a lead role in managing engineering projects from planning through to execution. The ideal candidate will ensure the successful delivery of project goals, while adhering to company policies, quality standards, and timelines.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior management to create detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Lead the execution of engineering projects, effectively managing resources and ensuring deliverables are achieved on schedule.
  • Ensure all project activities comply with client policies, procedures, and established quality standards.
  • Track and report on project progress, making necessary adjustments to meet objectives.
  • Communicate project updates to stakeholders, including clients, team members, and senior management.
  • Proactively identify and manage project risks and issues to avoid delays or disruptions.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Participate in design reviews and offer technical input where required.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers involved in project work.

 

Reporting to: Project Manager

Hours: 37 hrs per week.

Days: Monday Friday.

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in project engineering or a related discipline.
  • Bachelors degree in engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 3 years' experience with fire protection systems, including sprinkler systems.
  • Strong technical expertise in fire protection systems design and installation.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to plan, organize, and allocate resources effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise between clients, team members, and senior management.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and creative thinking to overcome project challenges.
  • Proficient in project management tools such as MS Project or similar software.
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
