Elite Talent Hub is a specialist in permanent staffing solutions for clients in Europe and the Middle East.

Our client is one of the largest M&E Contractors in the Middle East and have an expanding pipeline of projects across UAE and Saudi Arabia. They are currently seeking an Mechanical Construction Manager for a large-scale Industrial project in Riyadh Saudi Arabia.

The Construction Manager executes construction projects by organizing, planning, and overseeing project tasks and managing the trade labour assigned to their team. In addition, they complete quality inspections and supervise all assigned site team members, including day-to-day supervision of sub-contractors site personnel as assigned for all site construction activities.

 

Responsibilities

  • Review with Engineering Team and Construction Manager to ensure all take-offs are in line with project requirements.
  • Involvement with temporary site setups as assigned by the Construction Manager.
  • Provide input, review and management of Labour forecasts to ensure the manpower is practical for assigned works and not exceeded for the works once agreed.
  • Notify the Construction Manager of any impediment to planned works, e.g., Access issues, material, equipment, etc.
  • Generate RFI's (Requests for Information) as required to ensure completeness of the project documents and identifying and clarifying any discrepancies.
  • Track and notify the Construction Manager of subcontractor performance and any impediment to their works.
  • Review drawings for compliance with project plans, manufacturer's recommendations and code, or other standards applicable to the systems assigned. Any observations or proposed deviations from IFC shall be fully reported to the Construction Manager and MEP Design Lead for correct project change management procedure, (prior to commencing any works).
  • Maintain a daily log of job site activities extracted from the 2-week lookahead programme to track progress and issue updates to the Construction Manager.
  • Ensure all materials issued from stores are correctly documented for approval to use, correct quantities for job in hand and excess materials are booked back to stores upon completion of works.
  • Provide day-to-day links with clients construction discipline team to ensure all planned works are coordinated correctly.
  • Set an example by ensuring work fronts and job site is organized and clean, including waste disposal and environmental protection, escalating any issues arising by poor housekeeping to Construction Manager and HSE Lead for further action.
  • Manage all assigned construction activities as per scope allocation and coordinate with all stakeholders to ensure the project milestones are achieved.
  • Ensure all documentation utilized at site is the latest revision and stamped Issued for construction, remove any documentation from site work front not of the latest revision, in coordination with QA/QC.
  • Ensure any construction design / execution issues are escalated to the Construction Manager for further action.
  • Tracking site progress and providing updates to the Construction Manager for further action, identifying any risks to the schedule.
  • Ensure any material take-off top-ups are coordinated with the Construction Manager.
  • Under the direction of the Construction Manager, site work front supervision and coordination of assigned construction subcontractors to ensure all packages are delivered to our clients and project standards.
  • Liaise and coordinate the builderswork requirements with site Construction stakeholders / BIM Team.
  • Ensure adherence to all EHS and QA/QC requirements and responsible for ensuring subordinate team and sub-contractors adheres to these requirements.
  • Ensure inspections for assigned work fronts are completed with QA/QC Team to ensure client representative site installation inspections are approved to Code A
  • Generation of red-line drawings in coordination with subordinate site construction teams and QA/QC teams, for assigned work fronts to allow as built drawing and BIM updates to be completed as work progresses and are submitted to Code A
  • Attend Construction Team meetings as required by the Construction Manager.
  • Coordinate with Project Controls Engineer for weekly Progress Report development.
  • Provide input to Project Change Management process via the Construction Manager.
  • Ensuring that the HSE requirements are observed in the execution of all construction activities.
  • Ensuring that all assigned subordinates and subcontractors adhere to site timekeeping protocols and escalate any issues or deviations.
  • Ensure awareness and compliance of the QSPs which are located and maintained in our clients Quality Library.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Time served apprenticeship an advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years work experience on construction projects.
  • Qualifications commensurate with position:
  • Role applicable degree from a reputed university / Trade Qualifications NVQ, etc.
  • Experience in Data Centre Projects an advantage.
  • Competent in the use of PC applications (Microsoft Office suit or equivalent).

Salary
