Elite Talent Hub LTD is a specialist in permanent staffing solutions for clients globally.

Our client, a leading HSE Healthcare provider based in Limerick, is now seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates for the role of Pharmacist. Both Junior and Senior roles available. The role has all the benefits of a HSE contract with CPD and pension.

We will also consider a LOCUM contractual agreement for the right candidate.

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

General

Work collaboratively with other members of the team to ensure that patient care is central to all activities of the Department of Pharmacy. Participate in service delivery as part of a professional and dedicated team.

Create, promote and maintain open communications and healthy working relationships.

Ensure best pharmaceutical practice, having regard to legal and ethical requirements for the provision of the pharmacy service.

Maintain the principles of equity, accountability, quality and safety in daily work.

Work collaboratively with other Pharmacy Department staff to deliver clinical pharmacy services to achieve stated goals and objectives, respecting the role of other pharmacists in ensuring safe and effective care.

Manage and develop self and others in a busy working environment,

Have the skills necessary to evaluate information, make effective decisions and problem-solve.

Have the ability to manage time, deadlines and prioritise the workload

Participate in/ supervise the operation of the dispensary, and the procurement, storage and supply of pharmaceuticals and other related items.

Ensure accurate records relating to the procurement, storage, compounding, quality control, dispensing, distribution, and destruction

of medical products are maintained in accordance with best practice standards and applicable legislation.

 

Clinical

Provide a clinical pharmacy service; be an active member of the multidisciplinary team; participate in consultant rounds, MDT meetings as assigned, provide drug information to medical, nursing and healthcare professionals and patients, carry out prescription review, patient education, and documentation of clinical interventions.

Participate in patient education on medicines as part of the Clinical

Pharmacy Service, as assigned.

Participate in the antimicrobial stewardship programme

Participate in the medication safety programme

Ensure best practise and compliance with agreed guidelines for the use of medications, developing and/or revising these where assigned by the Chief Pharmacist.

Conduct clinical audit relevant to the provision of the clinical pharmacy service, medication safety and antimicrobial stewardship.

Participate in the measurement of Key Performance Indicators

 

Professional/ Education

Be willing to learn. Actively participate in professional development through self-learning, formal courses, formal and/or informal on the job training consistent with the post.

Attend such study days and continuing education courses as may be deemed necessary for the development of both the service and the individual. Maintain professional competency and continuous professional development as required by the Irish Institute of Pharmacy (IIOP) and Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI).

Participate in the teaching and training (including in-service training) of pharmacy, medical, nursing and other staff as may be required.

 

Administrative

Participate in the operation of a computer-integrated management system for the Pharmacy. Have good computer skills including MS

Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Participate in administrative procedures as assigned by the Chief

To supervise Pharmacy Technician(s) and pharmacy staff as assigned.

Ensure availability of documentation and compliance with the

Hospitals Health and Safety policy, and other relevant policies. Perform duties to the highest professional standards in accordance with the Code of Conduct and Standards of the Pharmacy Regulator, the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland, and any other relevant standards.

 

Eligibility Criteria Qualifications and/or experience

Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc.

Candidates must be a registered Pharmacist with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) or be entitled to be so registered. Proof of registration will be required before appointment is confirmed
