Our client is seeking a Health and Safety Advisor (Utilities experience) to cover the Greater Dublin and South Leinster Region.

 

The Role:

The successful Health and Safety Advisor will play a key role in ensuring the effective implementation of health and safety standards across all aspects of the business. This role involves actively supporting project delivery while maintaining a strong focus on compliance, risk assessment, reporting, and documentation. A proactive approach to safety management and a commitment to fostering a culture of health and safety excellence are essential qualities.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site surveying and setting out to ensure accurate project execution.
  • Deliver health and safety training to employees, including manual handling, toolbox talks, and safety inductions.
  • Perform safety inspections and audits, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Promote a positive approach to accident prevention and environmental protection, implementing effective measures to enhance safety, health, and environmental standards.
  • Assist in preparing incident reports and providing statistical data to management.
  • Implement and enforce the company’s health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and management systems.
  • Maintain Health & Safety KPIs to drive continuous improvement in all related matters..
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with the Health & Safety Management System.
  • Identify site-specific hazards and ensure they are addressed in site documentation and practical application on-site.
  • Ensure site documentation and statutory records are up to date and properly maintained.
  • Assist site management in complying with statutory Health & Safety requirements.
  • Support the Health & Safety Manager in developing and implementing risk assessments and improvements to Safe Systems of Work.

 

Required Experience and Competencies:

  • Full clean driver’s license essential.
  • A 3rd level qualification in Health and Safety is desirable.
  • 2 - 4  years experience
  • Civils, drainage, or utilities (water & electricity) experience

 

Package:

  • Salary: €50k – 60k depending on experience
  • company van, fuel card & toll tag
