Our client is a renowned building supplies and DIY retailer with a history of over 190 years. Their network includes 12 stores, a Truss Manufacturing Plant, and 3 Hardwood & Sheet Material branches across Ireland. They offer a comprehensive range of quality products to support builders, DIY enthusiasts, and homeowners alike.

 

Primary Objective

The Counter Sales Associate will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service and supporting operational efficiency at the Dublin branch. This role involves assisting customers with their purchases, providing product information, and ensuring smooth store operations.

 

Knowledge & Experience Required

  • Previous experience in retail or customer-facing roles is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with building materials and DIY products; plumbing & heating product knowledge is a plus.
  • Proficiency with computers and store management software.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve customers on the sales floor and by phone, understanding their needs and assisting with product selections.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with customers to enhance service delivery and ensure satisfaction.
  • Share technical information on products and services, assisting customers in making informed choices.
  • Keep the shop area well-organized, presentable, and fully stocked.
  • Support with cycle counting, stock-taking, and liaising with warehouse staff to fulfill orders.
  • Assist with various tasks as needed to contribute to a well-run branch.
  • Adhere to company operational policies and health & safety guidelines.

Contract Type:

  • Permanent, full-time position based on a 39-hour work week.
