Primary Objective

Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Shop Supervisor supports daily branch operations and ensures optimal service standards. This includes supervising shop floor activities, handling customer inquiries, assisting in inventory control, and managing administrative duties.

 

Knowledge & Experience Required

  • Strong experience in customer service and retail operations, preferably in a hardware or building supplies environment.
  • Proven ability in team leadership and staff coordination.
  • Proficient in ERP systems for order processing and inventory management.
  • Solid knowledge of stock control, merchandising, and product displays.
  • Background in pricing and product training is advantageous.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Branch Manager in daily operations, standing in when the manager is off-site.
  • Lead by example in customer service at the counter and shop floor, ensuring high standards.
  • Manage shopfront merchandising and product displays, delegating areas to the sales team as needed.
  • Process special orders, maintain stock levels, and coordinate with suppliers for pricing on incoming quotes.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints promptly to maintain satisfaction.
  • Conduct cycle counts, manage supplier returns, and oversee order reconciliation.
  • Provide training and input on staff performance and assist with rostering and payroll submissions.
  • Maintain EHS compliance through weekly checklist completion and oversee store cleanliness.
  • Handle end-of-day cash reconciliations and resolve discrepancies as they arise.

Contract Type
