Our client  have built a strong reputation for excellence across a diverse range of projects, from residential and commercial developments to large-scale infrastructure. As they continue to expand, we are seeking a talented Senior Engineer to play a key role in delivering high-quality, innovative solutions.  

 Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Site Manager in leading the construction efforts on assigned projects.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with the engineering team and subcontractors.
  • Ensure that project deliverables meet the required specifications, budgets, and deadlines.
  • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and professional staff, including Quantity Surveyors and the Project Manager.
  • Engage all project team members to ensure timely project completion.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial team and other internal stakeholders as needed.
  • Support the management of systems that track project progress in terms of time, quality, dimensions, and quantity.
  • Aid in the inspection and testing of workmanship and materials, such as drainage, concrete, piling, and brickwork.
  • Provide engineering support to resolve technical challenges and address technical queries.
  • Oversee setting out works, ensuring they meet allowable tolerances.
  • Regularly verify setting out points and benchmarks, ensuring all instruments and measuring equipment are properly calibrated.
  • Ensure that the workforce clearly understands the setting out information and its suitability for the work being performed.
  • Maintain accurate setting out and dimensional control to ensure precise construction.
  • Review technical designs and drawings to ensure compliance during construction.
  • Supervise subcontractors working on-site, ensuring their work meets project requirements.
  • Liaise with utility providers and coordinate on-site activities to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies.
  • Prepare site reports and other necessary documentation.
  • Proactively manage health and safety protocols on site.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and sustainability policies and relevant legislation.
  • Supervise and coordinate temporary works as needed.
  • Implement and oversee test and inspection plans for all on-site activities.

Key Skills:

  • Higher-level qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a Site Engineer or Site Management role, with a proven track record in large-scale projects, particularly in heavy civils.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Irish and UK construction standards.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with the Commercial and Contracts teams, as well as client representatives on-site, including participating in meetings.
  • Strong technical competence.
  • Demonstrable commercial awareness.
  • Detail-oriented and process-driven.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
