Job Title: Senior Electrical Estimator
Reporting to: Managing Director
Job Description: outlined below;
As a Senior Electrical Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in our clients project development and implementation process, tendering on a variety of projects including healthcare, life sciences, commercial, pharmaceutical, industrial, etc. You will work closely with the Estimating Team as well as a multidisciplinary team of industry experts to deliver cutting-edge projects.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Pre-Qualification documentation preparation for desired projects as required.
- Log and assess initial tenders and provide appropriate report to management.
- Work closely with supply chain at tender stage to ensure on schedule, correct and competitive quotations.
- Query bid documentation as may be required to clear up any ambiguities, errors, and omissions in tender prior to tender closing. Develop and maintain RFI & addendum Log on each tender.
- Carry out full review of Tender Specifications and other supporting Tender documentation for full bid compliance.
- Prepare tender risk analysis and ensure tender submission is appropriately clarified.
- Completing take-offs from tender drawings. Development and review of Electrical discipline and multi-discipline material take-offs and enter into the Company’s Estimating software.
- Evaluation and/or development of construction labour rates and evaluation of sub-contract cost estimates and proposals.
- Review and analyse complex bills of materials, assess labour productivity and labour costs.
- Review of process designs and engineering specifications for cost effectiveness and suggestions for alternatives/value engineering.
- Complete tender site visits and attend meetings both internal and client based where required.
- Provide detailed tender and supporting non-commercial submissions based on a performance specification and services drawings.
- Evaluate the latest software tools available on the market & make recommendations for investments towards productivity gains.
- Uphold the highest levels of quality in line with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- You may be asked to travel to different sites as necessary.
Skills and Requirements:
- To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:
- 7-10 years of experience in a relevant field.
- Diploma or Degree Qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline. Electrical Trade background would be advantageous.
- Experience in Healthcare and Industrial projects is advantageous.
- Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills, able to collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients, and external partners.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office systems with a strong Excel ability required.
- Demonstrated appetite for continuous learning and personal development.
