We are currently seeking a Senior Director of Safety for a large scale giga construction project.
Accountable for overseeing, coordinating and managing all aspects related to HSSE on the package.

Key Accountabilities & Activities
On-Site Management Strategy
Planning, coordinating and reporting on the implementation of the HSSE program.
Collaborate with all stakeholders on the package to integrate best practice and innovative approaches into the strategic framework.
Ensure alignment of construction strategies with the Master Planning Delivery Division's mandate, addressing every facet from project inception to completion.
Measure pro-active program wide objectives and in conjunction with the Senior HSSE Director, determine package specific targets that facilitate continuous improvement via robust, maintained KPIs.
Measure the HSSE performance of Stakeholders on the package and ensure a holistic, strategic approach is initiated to drive continuous improvement.
On-Site Management
Directly supervise and coordinate on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to the HSSE requirements
Ensure compliance with all local, state, or federal regulations or compliance requirements related to construction and welfare.
Implement rigorous HSSE checking at all stages of the package, via formal and informal mechanisms.
Develop and implement HSSE improvement plans, campaigns and initiatives in conjunction with all stakeholders and measure the effectiveness of the program.
Provide support and guidance in the event of an incident occurring. Ensure robust corrective actions are identified and subsequently implemented.
Ensure optimal utilization of resources by constantly monitoring project requirements and adjusting allocations based on real-time package needs.
Ensure that all activities are planned in a safe manner and the approved methodology is implemented and maintained on the package.
Ensure that structured leadership engagements take place with all stakeholders actively involved.
Ensure that all construction activities adhere to local and international HSSE standards, prioritizing the well-being of the workforce and preventing potential hazards on site.
Ensure that various plans and standards are maintained to a high level and reflect the activities / works taking place on the package.
Ensure that sufficient, competent personnel are appointed to effectively manage works on site.
Relationship Management
Maintain a strong relationship with all stakeholders including contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and consultants
Engage regularly with stakeholders through formal sessions or meetings, nurturing a collaborative, open approach to drive improvement on the package.
Prioritize stakeholder engagement with public bodies, local communities, or other groups impacted by construction projects.
Functional Leadership
Manage on site HSSE Supervision Consultants and instill a sense of purpose, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Ensure the team's professional development by facilitating training sessions, workshops, and knowledge-sharing platforms.
Risk Management
Proactively identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential risks within the construction site management activities including risk at design stage.
Collaborate with risk management teams to ensure a holistic approach to risk assessment and mitigation.
Ensure robust emergency and crises management procedures are in place and tested periodically at all levels of the organization.
Continuous Improvement
Champion a culture of continuous improvement with regards HSSE across the package. Lead by example.
Regularly evaluate Operational Standards and Procedures to identify areas of potential enhancement.
Foster a collaborative environment where team members are encouraged to share feedback, innovative ideas, and best practices.
Background, Skills & Qualifications
Education
Bachelors’ degree or post-graduate diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
A Master’s Degree or professional certifications would be an added advantage.
Experience
A minimum of 20 years of experience in construction site management with exposure to large scale projects.
At least 10 years in a senior role, ideally with client and / or consultant experience.
Middle East experience would be an added advantage.
