Our client is one of the largest M&E Contractors in the Middle East and have an expanding pipeline of projects across UAE and Saudi Arabia. They are currently seeking a Mechanical QAQC Engineer for a large scale Industrial project in Riyadh Saudi Arabia.

The QAQC Engineer will be responsible executing all the Mechanical QA/QC tasks to assure adherence to project specific QA/QC requirements in addition to ensuring alignment with JEG SOPs.

Basic salary of 11,000 SAR per month + Allowances for Accommodation / Transportation / Insurance / Flights / Communication / Food / Others (If any)

Responsibilities

  • Direct line of report QA/QC Manager / Lead
  • Coordinate with QA/QC Manager / Lead to establish Project overall QA/QC deliverable requirements.
  • In coordination with site MEP Leads (Engineering and Construction) ensure correct codes, standards, job specifications, project procedures, local mandatory regulations are properly identified, correctly specified in detail, and met or exceeded.
  • Provide discipline input to project programme in conjunction with QA/QC Manager / Lead, Project Controls Engineer, Client Consultants and Specialist contractors, in line with overall project delivery schedule.
  • The QA/QC Discipline Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the quality management system (QMS) is fully implemented whilst carrying out daily tasks, working closely with related engineering, construction, fabrication and commissioning departments.
  • Follows in detail assigned project specific JEG project Quality Control Plans and reviews, comments and approves the assigned subcontractors Quality Control Plans to Code A status.
  • Ensuring all works are inspected and carried out in accordance with the Approved Method Statements, Technical Orders/Manuals and ISO Standards as applicable.
  • Adheres to the project inspection strategy to cover all project phases.
  • Carries out site inspections and records / actions any remedial works for hold-point releases once all QMS functions have been completed and the equipment is ready to go into the next construction / commissioning stage in conjunction with Construction and Commissioning Leads.
  • Ensure all documentation is prepared and submitted to the client team to achieve code A for all visual inspections, MIRs, NDT, etc. including 3rd party subcontractors.
  • Ensure all relevant paperwork for each assigned system is maintained and up to date and available on project document management system (weld tracker, cable test reports, equipment FATs etc.)
  • Provide day-to-day links with clients or client consultants QA/QC discipline team.
  • Actions root cause analysis process for site level NCRs and ensure corrective action and preventive action are acceptable and approves NCR prior to client inspection and closure.
  • Processing, evaluating and submitting on time, completed Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Corrective Action Request (CAR), inspections and audit reports to Project QA/QC Manager / Lead
  • Monitor progress and status of QA/QC documentation in coordination with document control.
  • Ensure proper usage of documents control, all files trackable, and project data is updated on the project SharePoint.
  • In coordination with the Construction Team Leads ensure all documentation utilized at site is the latest revision and stamped Issued for construction, remove any documentation from site work front not of the latest revision.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC Manager / lead and Project Controls Engineer for weekly Progress Report development
  • Provide QA/QC support to Construction Managers as required to ensure compliance.
  • Verification and inspection of systems in line with approved submittals and design (coordination with Construction Leads) including site inspections with all project QA/QC stakeholders.
  • Attend weekly meetings as required and arrange Minutes of meetings for records as applicable.
  • Delivering audit assessment findings to Project QA/QC Manager and evaluate the need for any corrective/preventative action.
  • Escalate to Line Manager any QA/QC issues arising that may affect project schedule or project execution plans.
  • Provide input to Project Change Management process via Line Manager as applicable.
  • Interface with Commissioning Team for QA/QC input and vendor coordination
  • Verification and submittal of red-line drawings and As-built drawings / documentation in coordination with MEP discipline engineers, construction teams and BIM teams to code A status
  • Advancing quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the project
  • Attend training as requested.
  • Ensuring that the HSE requirements are observed in the execution of all QA/QC activities.
  • Provide regular input to the continuous improvement log (lessons learned), implementing changes where deficiencies are identified and corrective actions proposed.
  • Ensure awareness and compliance of the QSPs which are located and maintained in the JEG Group Quality Library.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Time served apprenticeship an advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years work experience on construction projects in a QA/QC role
  • Qualifications commensurate with position:
  • Role applicable degree from a reputed university / Trade Qualifications NVQ, etc.
  • Experience in Data Centre Projects an advantage.
  • Commissioning experience an advantage.
  • NDT experience an advantage.
  • QA/QC Auditing experience.
  • Competent in the use of PC applications (Microsoft Office suit or equivalent).
