Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Site Engineer to join their growing team. Reporting to the Head of Construction, the successful candidate will gain experience and exposure across a large construction project, initially in the construction of 371 residential units.
Responsibilities
- Setting out using Leica GPS and Total Station – Setting out the following, Foundations, Blockwork, Timber frame, Drainage, Watermain, Site Services, Roads Paths and Paving
- Surveying as Built information and Compiling as Built drawings in AutoCAD for all elements.
- Liaising with the Consulting Engineers, Local Authority, ESB and Irish Water and ensuring works are carried out in accordance with the relevant specifications.
- General Site Administration and documentation, ensuring the site team and subcontractors are working to the up to date information and specification.
- Taking concrete Samples during pours and keeping a schedule of all site testing.
- Compiling the Daily Site Diary on Procore.
- Taking off Quantities and ordering materials ahead of schedule.
- Checking measures of works completed by sub-contractors.
- Performing quality checks and carrying out inspections of all construction elements.
- Uploading progress photos to Procore on a daily basis.
- Managing the site and select parts of construction works day-to-day
- Managing health and safety on site along with the site team.
- Performing Site H&S Inductions and Tool box talks when required.
- Organising Material, plant and Subcontractors.
- Planning work efficiently and adapting to setbacks to keep project on schedule and within budget.
- Reporting progress and other updates back to the site team.
- Compiling BCAR documentation and all information required for handover.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 1 year’s relevant experience.
- Experience of draughting/modelling software such as AutoCAD.
- Thorough knowledge of construction methodologies, materials and standards.
- Excellent PC literacy – advanced working knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, facilitation and diplomacy skills.
- Ability to work well alone as well as part of a team.
- Proactive with the ability to work under own initiative.
- Enthusiastic and flexible.
- Monday to Friday role, 39 hours.
