What is a Critical Skills Employment Permit?

The Critical Skills Employment Permit (CSEP) is designed for skilled workers in professions experiencing a shortage of skills in Ireland. To apply for a CSEP, you must have a job offer for a minimum of two years in hand in one of the below professions for an annual salary of at least €38,000.

What are the benefits of a CSEP?

Upon issuance of your Critical Skills Employment Permit, you can take advantage of various benefits, such as:

  • Immediate eligibility to apply for family reunification for employment permit holders.

  • Dependants, partners, and spouses, once they are residents of the State, can seek any employment and can obtain a Dependant/Partner/Spouse Employment Permit from the Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation at no cost.
